Must-Have: Cardiac Ultrasound proficiency, Vascular Ultrasound
proficiency Description: This position performs cardiac ultrasound
on all inpatients and outpatients. An Ultrasound Technologist is a
diagnostic ultrasound professional qualified by credentialing,
academic training, and clinical experience. The role involves
providing diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and
related procedures. The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for
daily operations of the lab, patient scheduling, equipment
maintenance, and quality improvement. Maintaining a high standard
of medical ethics and pursuing lifelong learning is essential for
the sonographer. Responsibilities: Produces quality images by
selecting appropriate technical factors, equipment, and transducer
settings. Verifies patient orders and reviews appropriateness for
exams. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and
addresses patient concerns. This fosters a sense of comfort and
confidence for the patients. Determines if images are satisfactory
for diagnostic purposes using independent judgment. Accurately
differentiates between normal and pathologic findings during
sonographic exams. Responsible for independent operation of
sonographic equipment. Performs and communicates findings of
diagnostic examinations. Maintains daily operations of the
department, patient schedule, and equipment maintenance. Reports
equipment failures and conducts quality assessments. Maintains a
clean work environment and adequate supplies. Ensures appropriate
sterilization techniques and accurate documentation of logs,
charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
Complies with regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
